SLD was delighted to supply the Swedish Ljusdesign lighting system for a new artwork curated by local First Nations leaders and presented by Gold Coast Airport’s Curatorium Advisory Committee.

Located in the International Arrivals Hall, 'Balun Gaandjindii-laa: We Gather at the River' is a sculptural and sound installation by Casino Wake Up Time, a collective of Bundjalung and Kamilaroi women who have been weaving and sharing stories together for more than a decade. Created to celebrate local Indigenous culture and heritage, this intricate artwork is part of a collection of new creative installations that both welcome and enhance the visitor experience at the Gold Coast Airport.

With lighting consultancy by Additive, the Ljusdesign Neo Framer Wide spotlights were carefully selected to illuminate this detailed installation as they provide perfect colour rendering and consistency across the display. The wider beam angles and framing versaltility proved invaluable during installation and focusing.

Congratulations to artists, project team and the Gold Coast Airport’s Curatorium Advisory Committee. For further information on this meaningful project, please contact our team at info@sld.net.au.
